This monument to Ken Blake was unveiled in Strathalbyn by the South Australian Governor Hieu Van Le AC on Sunday October 28, 2018.
The monument was created by James Stewart, a local artist living in Goolwa.
Located on the corner of High Street and Grey Street in Strathalbyn it is an intriguing piece of sculpture made entirely from scrap automotive tools, motorcycle parts and miscellaneous other pieces of metal welded together.

Ken or Kenny? Ken Blake was born Kenneth Maxwell Blake and always known as Ken when growing up in the Strathalbyn district. Ken began using the name Kenny Blake after returning from racing in the United States during 1975. It was thought that using name Kenny would be more appealing to the motorcycle racing fans, just like Kenny Roberts, a well known US motorcycle racer at the time.
Details of his racing career are at kennyblake.com.au.
